Some book news (I've got to do something to merit the name "Biblioblog," after all): The Library of America just released its H. P. Lovecraft anthology. I love LOA editions, so I might have to get this for myself.

From Michael Dirda's recent article in the Weekly Standard:
He [Lovecraft] actually competed in an ice-cream eating contest and was reportedly offered the editorship of a periodical called the Magazine of Fun, we learn. (Found on Neil Gaiman's blog. "I now want to write a story about the H. P. Lovecraft Magazine of Fun," says Gaiman.)
Good article, but Dirda is the second reviewer I've read to complain about the inclusion of "Herbert West--Reanimator," one of my favorites. Or do I just have bad taste?
