The whirlwind tour continues. Arrived in Prague after an afternoon and evening in Vienna. In the latter, had "Heurigen," partially fermented wine, and Turkish coffee on the old town square. Beautiful architecture! I'm coming down with a cold, though, so I might not be able to taste the authentic version of Pilsner Urquell. Gotta go.

Hello

We found an internet cafe next to the train station in Munich. This German keyboard is screwed up--"qwertz" instead of "qwerty", for instance--but I'll trz mz best. I survived Oktoberfest, barely. After three Maß of beer (about 9 12 oz. cans) we stumbled back to the hotel and watched the festivities via TV. Lots of guys in lederhosen and gals in decolletees peasant smocks. Some of the beer halls had authentic (as far as I could tell) oom-pah brass bands, others had rock groups playing German versions of "Country Roads" and "She'll Be Comin´Round the Mountain." It´s hard to avoid drinking beer in Germany, because it´s much cheaper than water or cola. Other oddities include these cars.

My time is up.
