I have a job offer to teach English at a university in Hangzhou. Should I accept? Librarianship doesn't seem too interested in me.

Currently reading: Stephen R. Donaldson, The Power That Preserves. His high-flown similes are getting annoying (taken from a random page: "dread seemed to fall on him from nowhere, adumbrate against his heart like the knell of an unmotivated doom.") But curiosity about how this thing is going to end compels me to keep reading.

Sounds interesting. Wikipedia says "Hangzhou is renowned for its historic relics and natural beauty." I'd be inclined to try it for a year if there was nothing tying me down. I guess the downside would be finding another library job after the teaching gig ended. It sounds like the jobs your interested in are pretty competitive.
