I always wondered how Chinese restaurant workers with little to no English ended up in out-of-the-way places like Plainview, TX: Waiters, Cooks to Go. Leave it to a NYT reporter to call small towns "nameless," though.

I think that she was speaking from the Chinese workers' point of view - they don't know the language, so they keep track of the area codes, not the city names.
